It’s May! Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!
I love this time of year!

 

It is time to allow all that’s been brewing to show up.

All the seeds that have been planted to blossom and bloom and, to allow joy to flow from your heart and out into the world! It’s time to dance, to sing, to praise the Universal Source, and to get playful with the delights you see and in doing so allow the feeling of joy to ripple from you, attracting more into your life.

 

 

 

But… what if you just don’t feel joyful? What if you can’t let it in?
It’s OK!

Here’s the thing.


If you have a triggered nervous system, if you are out of alignment in the world of your body or your brain keeps actively telling stories that you aren’t safe… you will struggle to allow yourself to feel joy. It will feel unsafe. It will feel uncomfortable. It will feel unsure. You may want to dance, but hold back because you don’t want to fall; or you don’t want to look stupid. There is NOTHING wrong with hesitating to feel joy.

There is nothing broken about a triggered nervous system. It’s just time to regulate it.

Most people in the world are triggered in some way or another. But it is a sign of being out of alignment. It’s like all that juicy, magical, joyful energy is flowing to you…but because your system isn’t aligned…it kind of leaks out everywhere and won’t flow through you.
(Think water flowing through a strainer, instead of the aligned funnel!)

So, in this May Day, Beltane, vibrant energy flow let’s make this simple.

Here’s what you need to do:

Look around you and find one thing you appreciate.
One thing that is going really well.
A flower blooming. A bee buzzing. The smell of rain.
The sweater that keeps you cozy.
The sun that warms your skin.

The coffee that tickles your senses.

Appreciate…. Appreciate…. Let it sparkle… and then let it explode into joy.

Now, get up and give a little dance… even a chair dance while you read this. No one is looking… just a little shake it off. It can be as simple as that. Practice that level of joy and watch as it starts to build.

When you do this you are doing a few things :

First, you are regulating your nervous system to some degree by focusing on what is. Your brain can accept that a flower is doing a great job blooming. It feels safe.- Second, you are focusing on appreciation, which opens your heart chakra and allows your vibration to rise into the Love zone.- Third, by raising your vibration you are opening yourself up to attract more of the feelings of appreciation and love into your experience.

Throw in all the Beltane energy of love and vibrancy and you are taking full advantage of this time of year. (Beltane is rooted in the balance of the divine masculine and divine feminine, within each of us, in our relationships and in the earth itself; Hence the passion and vitality. A little dance goes a long way to balance this within yourself due to it’s balancing your sacral chakra… But more about that another time!) Meanwhile, if you are out of alignment and your nervous system is really feeling it, it’s a good idea to figure out where you need more flow.
